Byrrh Competition

Our good friends at Emporia Brands are delighted to announce an upcoming competition with french aperitif ‘Byrrh

The prize is for the winner of each city (so 3 winners) to travel to France for two days to visit the vineyards where the base wines are made and meet the growers that make these wines and then visit the facility where they produce Byrrh in Thuir….  This facility was designed by Gustav Eifel (as in the Tower) at the height of his fame and houses the World’s largest wooden barrel, where each individual stave is an entire Oak Tree…  We will then host a final for the 3 winners in a bar in Perpignan on the South Coast to complete the process…

The first two heats have now taken place and were won by Danil Nevsky of Society Bar in Aberdeen who will make making the trip to France alongside Jon Hughes from Sygn in Edinburgh – now the last place on the trip will go to the winner of the Glasgow heat!!

And then the following week in Edinburgh

We don’t need the recipes until the day, but Name/Bar/Cocktail Names and any time restrictions to fit in around shifts, so we can start thinking about a running order that suits everyone…

Each competitor will have to produce 2 different drinks, an original Byrrh drink and a twist on a classic…  However they will have to present 2 of each (one for judges and one for the photographer)…

Due to the high interest in the comp you’ll need to be quick if you’d like to take part. They want to have a prompt kick off to make sure they get through the running order in good time…
